In a commitment to making books more accessible, Elias donated 125 advance copies of his memoir to Little Free Libraries throughout the Midwest, distributing 25 books each in Des Moines, Iowa; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Omaha, Nebraska; Wichita, Kansas; and Peoria, Illinois.

Elias receives Honorable Mention for his short story, “Project Mercy.” This was in partnership with Little Village Magazine and the Des Moines Public Library. This Time Next Year: A Short Story Contest

The day after its release, Elias donates 45 additional copies of his memoir throughout rural areas in Iowa. Believing accessibility over profits is what writing is all about. He hopes to challenge more authors to donate a number of their books to ensure everyone has a fair chance.
